East Midlands Ground Station Development Programme
AirGen Station 1 is our first ground-segment development programme, designed to establish practical satellite communications capability in the East Midlands.

From a pass overhead to data in your hands
A ground station exists to turn a few minutes of radio contact into usable data. This is the chain AirGen Station 1 is being designed around.
Satellite
A spacecraft in low Earth orbit passes over the station for a few minutes at a time.

The antenna tracks the pass and a software-defined radio recovers the downlinked signal.

Connectivity Beyond Coverage
Most connected devices rely on terrestrial mobile networks. AirGen Space is exploring hybrid connectivity, where a device uses a conventional cellular network when one is available and satellite communications when terrestrial coverage disappears.

Hybrid non-terrestrial connectivity is an area we are exploring. Evaluation and prototype work is planned rather than delivered, and this is not a product you can buy from AirGen Space today.
Space infrastructure built on connectivity experience
AirGen Space builds on years of practical experience delivering managed connectivity and network infrastructure. We are applying that operational knowledge to the rapidly evolving satellite communications and ground-segment market.
Ground segment is, at heart, a networking problem wearing an antenna. Scheduling, link reliability, monitoring, data delivery and keeping a service up when part of it fails are the same disciplines that keep terrestrial networks running.
